John was especially fussy over the early part of the weekend, almost as if he knew what was coming on Thursday. However he settled down on Sunday and had a relatively good night. We were looking at early photos and must admit that John is a chunk now compared to his early start. We are very nervous about the idea of having him in general anesthetic but are hopeful that this surgery will not only fix his hernias but might make him a little more comfortable as well.
The basic surgical plan calls for about a 30 minute surgery to repair two inguinal hernias. We are hoping that the insurance company allows them to fix the intermediate hernia on his belly button as well. If all goes well Thursday morning we will spend Thursday night in the hospital and take him home Friday morning. We'll post as soon as we return home with an update.

Just as a heads up, the surgery will probably take longer than 30 minutes with 2 hernias to deal with. I believe Peter's surgery was a little over an hour. It may have been longer because they had to verify the existence of the second hernia. I love the pictures of Ruth and John sleeping, very cute.
Geeze! I'm just catching up. John is one tough little dude. Thursday, I'll say a prayer. Glad you caught this. Mom and dad are pretty tough too.
Alan
Ruth and Matt, Thinking of you today and hoping all went well. Megan had a similar surgery, so I know how hard it is to watch your little one have surgery. You are in my prayers and hope to see you very soon! Love, Jessica
